Founded in 2005, more than 700 PLTFRM employees support over 800 brand partners across digital, mass, club, natural and conventional retail channels, including Amazon, Walmart, Target, Best Buy, Costco, Whole Foods Market, TikTok Shop and other leading retailers and marketplaces. Together, we influence more than $12 billion in annual retail sales across categories ranging from food and wellness to pet, electronics and general merchandise.
The people who thrive here are team-oriented problem solvers who care deeply about their work, their clients and one another. We give talented people the opportunity to take ownership, build meaningful partnerships and help great brands reach more consumers.
If you set a high bar for yourself and then look for ways to clear it, youll fit right in. Were looking for ambitious, self-motivated people who want their work to make a visible impact and who are ready to grow as fast as the brands we serve.
Were looking for a Director of Data Science and Measurement to own how our digital team measures, explains, and improves performance across every channel our brands sell in. These channels include Amazon, Walmart, Target, TikTok Shop, Costco, Sams Club, Best Buy, and DTC.
Youll be the person who turns fragmented retailer and platform data into a defensible point of view: whats actually driving sell-through, what media spend is earning its keep, where assortment and content are leaving money on the table, and what to do about it next quarter. Youll work directly with brand leadership, our media and content teams, and our data engineering organization, and youll be in front of clients regularly.
You know why Walmarts POS data and Amazons shipped-COGS numbers dont reconcile, what changes when a brand moves from 1P to 3P, and why a TikTok Shop GMV number needs three caveats before you put it on a slide.
You will define exactly what every metric means, document the exact methodology for how it is calculated, and ensure strict adherence across the organization. This will require standardizing fragmented retailer data into an ironclad single source of truth.
Set the standard for data quality and definitions.
Own digital performance measurement end to end.
Define the metrics, methodology, and reporting cadence for sales, share, media, content, and availability across all channels.
Move the team off last-click and platform-reported ROAS toward defensible attribution and structured test-and-learn design.
Design and interpret incrementality tests, geo/DMA holdouts and matched-market reads, dayparting and flighting analysis, PDP and content quality measurement, regression analysis, causal impact analysis, share-of-search and share-of-shelf tracking, promotional lift and cannibalization studies, and new-to-brand and repeat-purchase analysis.
Translate data into decisions.
Analyze category and portfolio trends to deliver meaningful macro insights for quarterly business reviews and joint business planning for brand and retailer conversations. Will include focus on velocity, assortment, pricing, promotion effectiveness, content quality, share of shelf, and forecast risk.
Partner with data engineering
to translate commercial questions into data requirements — which retailer and platform feeds we need, at what level of detail, how often, and what business logic defines "a week," "a unit," and "a sale" in each ecosystem.
Manage and mentor analysts and senior analysts, build the hiring plan, and raise the bar on analytical rigor, writing, and client-facing storytelling.
Be a commercial partner.
8+ years in analytics, with 3+ years leading people, in retail, CPG, e-commerce, or an agency/consultancy serving them.
Track record designing and interpreting incrementality tests and reading geographic/DMA-level performance.
Comfortable working directly with data — writing your own SQL queries and building your own views in a BI tool rather than waiting on someone else to pull numbers. Power BI preferred; Tableau or Looker acceptable.
Experience with MMM, marketing mix or media measurement vendors, and third-party attribution platforms.
Familiarity with a modern cloud data platform (Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, or BigQuery).
Python or R for analysis.
Experience building or evaluating AI/LLM-assisted analytics and reporting workflows.
Competitive salary and bonus eligibility
Hybrid or Remote Work Environment
A high ownership, high performance, high collaboration culture
The opportunity to work with leading consumer brands and shape the future of commerce
