In this role you lead a portfolio of FDE engagements to deliver measurable value within time-boxed windows. You will act as the senior technical voice in discovery with executives, turning ambiguous opportunities into production-ready plans. You own and evolve the FDE playbook and drive a reuse-first approach across the team, ensuring clear handoffs and governance. You will shape firm-wide AI and platform strategy, identify capability gaps, and grow a high-caliber FDE team. This role sits at the intersection of AI, platform engineering, and regulated delivery, offering impact across architecture, security, and operations.

- Lead a portfolio of FDE engagements, set priorities, allocate engineering capacity, and scope work for measurable value
- Serve as the senior technical voice in discovery with executive sponsors, translating opportunities into feasible delivery plans
- Own and evolve the FDE playbook, defining discovery-to-production standards, entry/exit criteria, and handoff protocols
- Drive reuse across FDE, establishing patterns to build/extend/standardize and turning learnings into reference architectures
- Set governance standards for FDE including secure-by-default practices, observability, testability, and operational readiness
- Define the institutionalization model for forward deployment with clear handoffs and owning teams
- Represent FDE to architecture, control, security, compliance, and senior tech leadership; influence enterprise AI/platform strategy
- Identify capability gaps and platform investment opportunities from FDE field work, turning them into recommendations
- Build and grow the FDE team: recruit, develop, and retain senior engineers; uphold high technical standards
- Stay at the frontier of AI, platform engineering, and regulated delivery practices and feed insights back to the org
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related discipline; advanced degree beneficial
- 14+ years of software development and technical leadership with production systems experience
- Experience in securities or financial services industry a plus
- Strong understanding of AI and agentic patterns (RAG, semantic search, agent-based design)
- Hands-on backend engineering experience; production systems and APIs
- Experience working across architecture, data, and platform concerns
- Exceptional written and verbal communication
- Strong strategic and product judgment
