Overview

As Director, Full-Stack Engineer at BNY, you will lead end-to-end development to accelerate AI-enabled solutions within the Enterprise Transformation Hub. You’ll connect front-end experiences with data and context layers to deliver scalable, developer-focused capabilities. You will collaborate with product, engineering, and platform stakeholders to translate AI opportunities into practical, high-impact software. You drive secure, maintainable code and shape technology strategy for large IT divisions, while mentoring engineers and promoting innovation.

Responsibilities
  • Consult with IT and business managers on area-specific issues
  • Resolve highly complex problems impacting business operations
  • Write well-designed, testable code and create supporting diagrams and documentation
  • Develop tests and test automation, integrate components into a full system, and participate in code reviews
  • Apply security and privacy principles and influence broad technology strategy
  • Stay current on emerging technologies and complete mandatory training
  • Leverage learning tools (e.g., Pluralsight) for personal development
  • Educate business leaders on IT strategies and support informed decision-making
  • Mentor junior engineers and advocate innovative technology solutions
  • Shape and influence technology strategies for large IT divisions
  • Communicate and collaborate across product, engineering, and platform teams
Key requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent work experience); advanced degree beneficial
  • Significant software development experience
  • Experience in securities or financial services is a plus
  • Proficiency with Python, SQL, Java, JavaScript, JSON, and TypeScript
  • Strong communication, organization, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of interdependencies and business impact of IT plans
  • Experience with vendor-specific methodologies and consulting experience with structured methodologies
  • Experience developing and supporting mainframe applications
  • Broad experience with multi-platform development tools and toolkits
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages and full-stack development
  • Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking skills
