Director - IB Enterprise Architect

In this senior architectural role you will define the target architecture for a global Investment Banking domain and partner with CIO-level stakeholders to shape technology investments. You will work hands-on with engineering teams to resolve complex design challenges, driving platform modernization, data and integration strategy, and responsible AI/analytics adoption. You will lead architecture governance, ensure resilience and cost efficiency, and promote standardized, enterprise-grade solutions. This role offers impact across front-to-back capabilities in a major financial institution and opportunities to influence cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities- Own, define and maintain the Investment Banking target architecture across capabilities, applications, data, integration and security.
- Translate business strategy, regulatory changes and technology priorities into actionable roadmaps and design principles.
- Provide leadership to Solution Architects and Product Managers ensuring alignment to domain direction and standards.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on complex design and delivery challenges including non-functional requirements, integration and resilience.
- Promote adoption of standard platforms and contribute to their evolution for resilient, governable and cost-effective solutions.
- Contribute to architecture governance artefacts and ensure compliance with privacy, security and records management processes.
- Offer expert advice to senior management to influence function-wide strategic decisions.
- Extensive architecture experience in large-scale, regulated financial institutions with IB domain knowledge.
- Deep understanding of Investment Banking front-to-back processes and data flows with control points.
- Proven ability to influence CIO-level and senior stakeholders with clear architectural judgement.
- Hands-on experience delivering architecture, solution design or engineering in complex, distributed environments.
- Practical experience applying AI, advanced analytics or intelligent automation within enterprise platforms.
