Overview

In this role you will shape Liberty Global's network strategy and AI adoption across our telecom businesses. You will collaborate with operating companies and central teams to develop roadmaps, governance, and the integration of AI into planning, operations and maintenance. You’ll identify high-value AI opportunities, ensure safe, auditable deployment, and drive measurable outcomes for network performance and customer experience. This is a chance to lead cross-functional initiatives at scale and influence strategic technology decisions.

Responsibilities
  • Develop network and AI strategy, architecture principles and roadmaps with senior leaders and operating companies
  • Establish and lead governance frameworks to prioritise and implement high-value network and AI initiatives
  • Lead the integration of AI and machine learning into network planning, operations, optimisation and maintenance
  • Identify, assess and scale AI use cases for improved network performance, incident response, capacity planning and operational effectiveness
  • Shape a safe, governed approach to AI adoption with ownership, auditability, human oversight and production controls
  • Partner with Security, Data and AI governance teams to manage AI deployment risks
  • Evaluate technology partners and vendor capabilities to inform investment
  • Build strong partnerships across operating companies and central teams to ensure consistent standards and ways of working
Key requirements
  • Experience applying AI, ML or AIOps within network planning, engineering or operations in a telecommunications environment
  • Strong knowledge of network architecture including 5G standalone, RAN and AI-enabled network operations
  • Understanding of AI governance, model lifecycle management, telemetry, data pipelines and production deployment practices
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders
  • Experience defining technical standards and supporting adoption across multiple business entities
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills
  • Inclusive leadership across diverse teams, countries and cultures
