Director of Machine Learning Engineering

Shape Planet’s machine learning engineering strategy in a full-time hybrid role based three days weekly in Denver or Washington DC.

The Director of Engineering, Analytics leads the organization developing satellite-imagery models and pipelines. You will guide a transition from hand-built detectors toward foundation-model methods while expanding monitored sites from hundreds to thousands. You will report to the VP of Technology and lead teams across North America and Europe.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute analytics talent strategies
• Convert program commitments into dated owned work
• Report delivery status, including slippage
• Advance the foundation-model analytics portfolio
• Deliver shared quality and latency targets

Requirements:

• Eight-plus years in software or machine learning engineering
• Six-plus years managing engineering managers
• Experience shipping machine learning into production
• Clear planning and status-reporting ability
• Active clearance or eligibility to obtain one
