Director of Plant Engineering

Job Title: Plant Engineering DirectorLocation: Sioux Falls, SDSalary: $160-210K plus bonusJob Summary of the Plant Engineering Director: In this role, you will lead Maintenance and Engineering operations within a busy plant environment. Your primary goal will be to optimize equipment performance and minimize any potential downtime through innovative maintenance strategies such as Preventive Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance, and TPM. Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Plant Engineering Director:· Oversee and manage capital projects, ensuring they are completed within budget and time constraints while maintaining the highest safety and environmental standards.· Implement improvements to enhance plant efficiency and minimize disruptions to operations.· Develop and execute maintenance strategies like Preventive Maintenance and TPM to ensure optimal plant performance.· Lead the maintenance team, providing guidance, enforcing policies, and prioritizing safety.· Offer solutions to operational challenges by implementing effective troubleshooting and long-term fixes.· Drive continuous improvement by developing and tracking Key Performance Indicators to measure maintenance success.· Develop and nurture engineering teams through coaching, performance management, and collaboration with HR.Education & Experience Requirements of the Plant Engineering Director:· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field with at least 10 years of management experience.· Candidates with a Master's degree and 8+ years of experience are also considered.· At least 5 years in a leadership role with team management experience.· Must have advanced technical knowledge in mechanical/electrical fields.· Proficiency in maintenance systems and technical skills such as PLCs and instrumentation.· Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and SAP is required.· Must possess strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.· Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.· Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.· Must have strong interpersonal, technical, and presentation skills.· May be required to work extended hours and weekends when necessary.
