Director of Software Architecture

As a Software Architect within Arm's Central Engineering Software group, you define software strategies across Arm ecosystems to enable Arm technologies and drive adoption. You work with OS, OEM, and partner teams to shape solutions that scale across data center to embedded devices. You will evolve software paradigms on Arm reference hardware, ensure performance, security, and reliability, and contribute to open-source projects as reference implementations. This role offers collaboration with leading industry partners and a chance to influence Arm technology adoption across multiple market segments.

- Understand Arm architecture and IP features and their impact on existing software components
- Promote benefits to software ecosystems and resolve adoption issues
- Analyze software solutions deployed in products, focusing on major open-source projects like Linux
- Deliver software improvements back to relevant open-source projects as references for Arm customers
- Collaborate with Arm OS, OEM, and Silicon Partners to drive standards for Arm's Partner model
- Create new software paradigms on Arm reference hardware
- Profile system performance and innovate optimization approaches
- Lead validation of functionality, security, and safety
- Knowledge of Arm-based architecture and range of SoCs/devices
- Experience with software profiling, instrumentation, and optimization for real-world workloads (AI stacks, run-time compilers, multimedia)
- Strong understanding of complex multi-component computing systems with low-level OS/device driver development or integration
- Authoritative knowledge of C or C++ with proficiency in optimizing applications, workloads, and compilers
- Experience in rigorous software testing and test-driven design
- Experience across the software lifecycle from concept to production and maintenance
