As the Director, SoftwareEngineering you will be responsible for the design,development, and delivery of digital solutions that support our colleagues and clientsacross Canada

Director of Software Engineering (PERM, Hybrid Remote/Onsite "Toronto")

• Build strong working relationships with business andIT management to understand business strategy and requirements, and to identifyand develop appropriate solutions that enable us to achieve its businessobjectives.
  
• Be an active member of the ITmanagement team reporting to the CIO, supporting the team in addressing both strategicand tactical priorities.
  
• Demonstrated ability to select,configure and integrate off the shelf SaaS systems
  
• Own the system architecture andengineering of digital initiatives at the firm
  
• Establish industry best practice processes and infrastructure for the Software Engineering team, moving us towarda DevOps and Agile culture.
  
• Be hands-on, able to reviewsoftware design and architecture.
  
• Work closely with EnterpriseArchitecture, Data Science, and Project Management teams to build solution roadmapsand project plans.
  
• Attract, recruit, and developengineering talent
  
• Provide coaching and learning and create an environment where colleagues can develop the technical expertise neededfor future business needs.
  
• Ensure our security standards arebeing followed throughout the software development process
  

Requirements

• Bachelor or master’s degree intechnology related field (Software or Computer Engineering, Computer Science)
  
• Seven to ten years of softwareengineering experience in varying leadership roles
  
• Three or more years working withCloud technologies – Azure preferred
  
• Three or more years of managingengineers, mentoring and nurturing developers, and collaborating with userexperience specialists
  
• In-depth knowledge of the best practicesfor managing software projects
  
• Practical and thorough inplanning
  
• Lead by example, butteam-oriented
  
• Have an aptitude for learning newskills
  
• Strong communication andinterpersonal skills and ability influence across an organization
