Overview

In this role you lead the Risk Platform Operations team to ensure timely, accurate delivery of risk analytics data used for risk management and portfolio construction across Fidelity Asset Management. You act as the data steward for risk analytics inputs, driving data quality and issue resolution with internal teams and data providers. You will mentor junior staff, design automated data quality checks, and partner with portfolio managers, risk managers, and engineering to support scalable risk solutions. This position offers the opportunity to shape data governance and elevate the reliability of portfolio risk models in a collaborative, data-driven environment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor the Risk Platform Operations team responsible for data quality and timely delivery of risk analytics
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of data feeding portfolio risk analytics (exposures, proxies, factor returns, covariance matrices, fundamentals, T&Cs, holdings)
  • Provide data expertise to portfolio and risk managers and partner with risk model engineering teams
  • Collaborate with internal and external data providers to resolve issues at the source
  • Develop automated systems for identifying and addressing data quality issues
  • Root-cause daily issues and implement improvements to data workflows and controls
Key requirements
  • Experience with market risk models from Barra, Axioma, Northfield, or Bloomberg
  • Strong data quality controls and ability to work with large datasets
  • Independent, proactive, and capable of mentoring junior staff
  • Deep understanding of financial data (security, company, portfolio, index, pricing across equities, bonds, derivatives)
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, Snowflake and/or Oracle; experience with data quality frameworks and automation tools
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative discipline
  • 5+ years in global data operations or support within finance
  • Expertise in anomaly detection and data quality workflows
  • Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration
  • Demonstrated leadership and process-improvement experience
  • Ability to work with complex data environments and resolve root-cause issues
  • Experience documenting procedures and validating data accuracy
