Overview

In this role you will lead globally distributed engineering squads to build secure, scalable AI-powered software. You will shape the technical strategy and drive agentic engineering across cloud-native, microservices-based systems. You’ll partner with product and business teams to deliver high-impact features and guide responsible AI governance. This position blends hands-on leadership with architectural oversight, enabling Moody’s to transform risk insight into action. You will work in a fast, inclusive environment that values curiosity, collaboration, and measurable engineering excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Lead globally distributed engineering squads with a 70/30 leadership to hands-on balance
  • Drive AI-powered and agentic development to deliver secure, scalable software
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop diverse engineering talent; boost engagement and retention
  • Own end-to-end delivery of product features across squads; align with stakeholders
  • Lead architecture reviews, enforce engineering standards, and promote best practices
  • Mentor through code reviews, workshops, and pair programming
  • Apply AI-powered tools to streamline coding, testing, and documentation
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure secure, high-quality software with robust processes
  • Represent engineering in leadership forums and shape long-term technical vision
Key requirements
  • Proven track record leading large, distributed engineering teams
  • Strong agile practice and modern software delivery experience
  • Expertise in cloud-native architectures, microservices, and secure design
  • Proficiency with React/.Net Core; Rust a plus; strong web technologies
  • Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD
  • Ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on execution
  • Excellent communication and influence across levels
  • Extensive AI software engineering experience including agentic systems and responsible AI governance
