Distributed Systems Engineering Lead

Lead distributed systems architecture for QFG from Toronto or Calgary, working hybrid with at least three office days weekly. Shape resilient platforms, identity flows, and technical direction.

As Team Lead, Software Engineering, you will connect legacy banking cores with microservices through scalable orchestration layers. Your focus includes distributed transaction management, eventual consistency, resilience patterns, and secure identity standards. You will mentor engineers and influence roadmaps with UX Research and Product Management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive cross-domain orchestration through integration architecture
• Design smooth, performant customer workflows across products
• Manage identity propagation, SSO, and cross-app sessions
• Assess technical debt across legacy middleware and APIs
• Mentor engineers on latency and data flows

Requirements:

• Seven-plus years of software development experience
• Demonstrated technical leadership or Pod lead experience
• Distributed transaction and eventual consistency background
• Experience implementing resilience patterns across system boundaries
• Ability to mentor and influence technical roadmaps
