Overview

In this role you will define and drive the technology direction for Sainsbury's Supply Chain across brands, partnering with engineering and product leads to shape a clear north star. You will lead strategic architecture work, ensure decisions align with standards, and oversee the migration of legacy systems to modern platforms. You’ll influence stakeholders across the organisation, collaborate with the broader architecture community, and keep the domain data and external perspectives current. This is a chance to impact retail tech at scale in a multi-brand, multi-channel business.

Responsibilities
  • Define the technology direction and north star for the Supply Chain domain
  • Champion and communicate the technology strategy to cross-functional teams
  • Drive migration of legacy systems to modern platforms and manage domain dependencies
  • Collaborate with Heads of Engineering and Product to align on strategic initiatives
  • Influence decision-making across the enterprise and with senior leaders
  • Maintain accurate domain data and scan the external environment for innovative approaches
  • Collaborate with the wider architecture community to align on strategic initiatives
Key requirements
  • Experience creating a technology strategy at enterprise level or for a large enterprise segment
  • Solid understanding of retail and Supply Chain domain functionality
  • Experience in Supply Chain domain, identifying dependencies and guiding design decisions
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders at director/senior management level
  • Track record delivering technology transformation with architecture artefacts (Designs, Decision Records, Transitional Architectures) and demonstrating value
