Overview
As a Solution Architect you shape and own the solution across bids and delivery programmes, guiding design from concept to operation. You will coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure architectures meet functional and non-functional requirements and align with client constraints. This role offers the chance to influence major opportunities and complex projects within a mission-driven environment. You will lead architectural governance, estimation, and transition activities to deliver secure, scalable solutions.

- Shape and drive solution thinking for complex bids and delivery engagements
- Design blueprints using frameworks (TOGAF, Zachmann, MODAF) and UML
- Oversee implementation with design team members (Technical, Data, Security, Information Architects)
- Ensure designs meet requirements and support operational scenarios
- Collaborate with client authorities to ensure architecture proposals meet standards
- Coordinate with quality/test management and Delivery Assurance on approaches and tracking
- Retain ownership through delivery, transition, and potential refinement
- Lead estimation to understand costs and timelines, including service regimes
- Establish policy for selecting architecture components and coordinate design activities
- Senior-level experience in solution architecture
- Expertise in one or more domains listed (Information Security, SOA/BPM/EAI, Data Warehousing, J2EE, Analytics, Mobility, ITIL)
- Ability to operate with commercial acumen and strategic impact
- Willingness to obtain/hold Security Clearance
- Experience with client advisory services, managed services, or outsourcing/delivery models
