DV Senior System Integration and Test Engineer

Overview

In this role you will plan and execute comprehensive system tests for defence-related integrations, working closely with a multi-disciplinary team on-site in Ampthill. You will develop test plans, run campaigns to meet specifications, and document results for stakeholders. You’ll manage test facilities, coordinate data and safety requirements, and contribute to verification trials within the UK defence context. The position offers hands-on testing, field deployments, and opportunities to influence formal product sell-off and acceptance.

Responsibilities
  • Design and execute test plans, cases, and procedures
  • Carry out test campaigns aligned with specifications and timelines
  • Document and sign off test documentation (plans, reports, logs)
  • Provide status updates to stakeholders
  • Plan Test Readiness Reviews
  • Identify and manage test facilities and liaise with contracted sites
  • Develop and integrate automated test scripts within the tool ecosystem
  • Coordinate equipment transport and field deployments
  • Collaborate within a large engineering team to meet tight deadlines
  • Participate in verification and qualification trials (UK Defence Industry)
  • Ensure safety protocols and security requirements in testing
  • Travel to trial sites and between sites for reviews and de-briefs
Key requirements
  • UK work eligibility and ability to obtain DV clearance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Proven test engineering experience with plans, cases, procedures, and reports for system integration/verification
  • Hands-on experience in qualification/verification trials in defence-related systems
  • Experience in strategic planning to support formal product sell-off and acceptance
  • Familiarity with instrumentation and data acquisition tools used in testing
  • Experience with configuration GUIs/HMIs, emulators, operating systems, and interface protocols
  • Ability to investigate and document faults in complex systems
  • Independent work-planning and estimation skills
  • Familiarity with integration/verification of software-inclusive or IP-networked military systems
