In this role you will oversee portfolio-level catastrophe risk within Exposure Management, reviewing model outputs and supporting underwriting decisions. You work with Marine and Energy roll-ups and help prepare materials for senior governance forums. You provide clear explanations of risks, data quality issues and uncertainties, while contributing to model validation and regulatory reporting. You will engage with brokers, third parties and cross-functional teams to monitor actual versus modelled losses and improve portfolio insight.
Responsibilities- Produce and maintain portfolio-level exposure and catastrophe loss views, including Marine and Energy roll-ups
- Review and challenge catastrophe model outputs and driver explanations at portfolio level
- Ensure exposure data quality and document assumptions, limitations and expert judgement
- Monitor exposures against risk appetite and escalate as needed
- Perform and review catastrophe modeling analyses, prioritise work and communicate uncertainty
- Contribute to model validation, vendor reviews, sensitivity testing and back-testing
- Interpret policy documentation to determine modelling assumptions with brokers/third parties
- Prepare papers and commentary for ECMG, RCC and senior committees
- Support Lloyd’s and regulatory exposure reporting (RDS, LCM)
- Assist catastrophe response and post-event activity with Underwriting, Claims, and Actuarial
- Act as senior technical reference within the team, providing peer review and guidance
- Help develop tools, metrics and processes to enhance portfolio insight and efficiency
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and stay informed on market developments
- Provide support to underwriters in non-modelled classes and assist portfolio optimisation
- Manage relationships with outsourcers when applicable
- May perform additional duties as assigned
- Proven catastrophe modelling and exposure management experience within Lloyd’s or London Market
- Ability to operate at portfolio and governance forum level with judgement and challenge
- Strong understanding of underwriting, reinsurance structures and catastrophe aggregation
- Ability to communicate complex technical outputs to non-technical stakeholders
- Knowledge of Lloyd’s regulatory expectations and exposure reporting frameworks
- Highly organized, analytical, comfortable with senior stakeholders
- Verisk Touchstone experience preferred
