In thisEdTech role you design, build, and operate software that supports teaching, learning, and assessment within a world‑leading computing department. You work closely with users to deliver reliable, scalable features and contribute to education through teaching and mentoring. You will explore new technologies and drive continuous improvement in production systems, collaborating across the College. This is a chance to apply modern software engineering practices in a collaborative academic setting and to impact student learning through technology.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop and operate software supporting teaching, learning and assessment
  • Maintain and improve production systems with input from staff and students
  • Teach, mentor and supervise student projects; train colleagues on educational technologies
  • Collaborate with College-wide teams and engage in the digital education community
  • Explore new technologies and approaches in educational technology and use evidence to inform improvements
  • Support continuous improvement and participate in department activities
Key requirements
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a Computing-related subject
  • Experience working in a software engineering team
  • Familiarity with web frameworks such as FastAPI and React
  • Experience with automated testing and CI/CD
  • Creative, proactive problem solver who collaborates with users and stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage own workload and deadlines
  • Experience deploying and managing Linux production systems (advantage)
  • Experience developing software for education (advantage)
  • Excellent communication and enthusiasm for teaching and training
