Overview

In this role you will design and maintain ultra-low-latency Java applications for electronic FX trading, closely partnering with front-office teams to enhance connectivity, data, pricing, and hedging components. You will implement and optimize trading strategies, work with market connectivity technologies and FIX, and drive performance and resilience of high-throughput systems. You will troubleshoot production issues, analyze latency with packet tools, and stay current with FX, crypto markets, and distributed systems to shape market-ready solutions. This position offers impact across front-office workflows, trading performance, and systemic reliability in a fast-paced financial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain low-latency Java applications for eFX trading systems
  • Collaborate with front-office teams on connectivity, market data, pricing, and hedging components
  • Implement algorithmic trading strategies and optimize performance
  • Work with FIX and other market connectivity layers to ensure robust trade execution
  • Optimize performance through GC-aware coding, multithreading, and system design
  • Monitor and improve performance with metrics and KPIs
  • Coordinate with infrastructure teams to ensure ultra-low-latency, high-throughput, resilient systems
  • Participate in code reviews, design sessions, and architecture discussions
  • Analyze production issues including network packet analysis (Wireshark) and Solace troubleshooting
  • Stay updated on FX trading tech, crypto markets, and distributed systems

Key requirements
  • Strong hands-on Core Java with multithreading and low-latency techniques
  • Front-office experience in FX or e-trading environments
  • Experience in connectivity, market data, pricing, and hedging strategies
  • Deep understanding of FIX protocol and electronic trading workflows
  • Linux-based development and performance tuning
  • Garbage-collection-aware coding, real-time systems, and performance optimization at machine level
  • Strong grasp of Solace messaging, networking fundamentals, 10GbE, and multicast
  • Experience with Wireshark or similar packet-analysis tools
