Electrical Controls Software Designer

Design PLC and PC control software for Eclipse Automation in Cambridge, Ontario, working on-site with robotics, motion, and vision systems. This full-time position supports custom automation projects.

As an Electrical Engineering Software Designer, you will develop customer-specific programs using Eclipse programming methods. You will integrate software with electrical and mechanical systems while contributing to machine concepts, process development, and installation. The work spans facility integration and customer sites worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design PLC and PC software programs for customer requirements
• Debug and commission control systems during integration and installation
• Integrate robots, sensors, motion controllers, vision systems, and lasers
• Test machine functionality and document each project accurately
• Train customers in machine operation and programming principles

Requirements:

• Seven to eight or more years in custom automation
• Engineering degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification
• Electrical, systems, or computer engineering specialization
• Strong programming, mechanical, and electrical problem-solving skills
• Hands-on understanding of robotics and control systems
