Electrical Distribution Operations Technologist

SCADA operations and electrical distribution expertise define this full-time Operations Technologist position at NT Power’s Newmarket head office. Participate in rotational on-call coverage.

As part of NT Power’s Engineering & Operations team, you will monitor, control, plan, operate, and maintain the distribution system. The position supports safe, reliable construction and service while reporting to the Manager of Operations Services. Technical work includes substations, outages, communications, GIS, and operational systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and control distribution systems using SCADA and related tools
• Coordinate interruptions, emergencies, isolation, repairs, and restoration
• Coordinate switching with Hydro One Grid Control Authority
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain substation equipment
• Maintain GIS, drawings, reports, maps, and operational data

Requirements:

• Three-year Electrical Engineering Technology program graduate
• Certified Engineering Technologist registration or eligibility with O.A.C.E.T.T.
• Minimum three years relevant experience preferred
• SCADA, OMS, AutoCAD, databases, or GIS experience is an asset
• Valid Ontario Class G licence and strong safety awareness
