In this Electrical Technical Director role, you will lead the development, design, and delivery of complex electrical systems within a London-based engineering consultancy. You’ll steer project teams, drive technical excellence, and shape client relationships while supporting business growth and strategy. The position blends design leadership with governance, risk management, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful project outcomes. This is a high-impact role for a senior engineer who wants to influence multi-sector projects and industry standards.
Responsibilities- Lead engineering design, coordination, and delivery across projects
- Manage project performance including fees, profitability, and risk
- Define client requirements and cultivate long-term relationships
- Oversee electrical systems design, UK standards compliance, and QA/QC
- Monitor construction, installation, and operational testing
- Support tendering and procurement of MEP contractors and equipment
- Represent the company at technical meetings and industry events
- Contribute to business development and sector growth
- Mentor and develop junior engineers
- Support office and sector management activities
- Degree qualified in Engineering (or equivalent)
- Chartered Engineer status (or working towards)
- Extensive experience in building services design across multiple sectors
- Strong leadership and project management capability
- Solid knowledge of UK regulations, standards, and health & safety legislation
- Commercial awareness including contracts, invoicing, and cost control
- Confident communicator with strong presentation skills
- Experience in consulting or construction environments (preferred)
- International project experience (desirable)
