Overview

In this hands-on technical leadership role, you will steer a team of test and automation engineers to verify, characterise and automate RF and baseband subsystems for Sepura's TETRA, LTE and future radio technologies. You will define verification strategy, drive test modernization and ensure robust production readiness. You collaborate across design, conformance, manufacturing and project teams to deliver validated, repeatable test solutions and investigations. Your leadership shapes the team’s technical excellence and impact on product reliability.

Responsibilities
  • Define and approve verification strategy for RF and baseband subsystems
  • Lead and develop a team of test and automation engineers, including performance reviews and development planning
  • Own test coverage, verification plans and test reports to meet product requirements
  • Define automation roadmap and develop Python-based frameworks to improve efficiency and repeatability
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Test Engineering to reuse test methods and assets
  • Drive complex root-cause investigations and close defects via Jira
  • Lead verification activities for RF, baseband, and product lines (TETRA, LTE, future tech)
  • Support characterisation, validation, regression, environmental and production readiness testing
  • Present technical findings to stakeholders and senior management
  • Plan and manage resources, risk, and DoE-based investigations
Key requirements
  • Experience leading technical engineering teams
  • Significant RF and/or electronics verification experience
  • Experience with communication systems such as TETRA, LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GNSS
  • Proven ability to develop automated test solutions using Python
  • Experience planning and executing verification campaigns
  • Root-cause analysis and fault investigation experience
  • Experience working with cross-functional development teams
