Embedded Firmware Engineer

PE Global is currently recruiting for an Embedded Firmware Engineer to join our technology client based in Cambourne. The role is an initial 24 month contract, working on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 2 days per week onsite.

AsanEmbeddedSoftwareEngineer,youwillhavesignificantimpactonourmultidisciplinaryR&Dprojects,growwithusasweventureintonewtechnologies,andcontributetotheconnecteddeviceslineofproductsthroughoutbothdiscoveryanddelivery.Youwilldesign,develop,debug,andoptimizerobust,production-readyfirmwareforresource-constrained,low-powerIoTdevices.

Theresponsibilitieswillincludedesigning,developing,debugging,andoptimizingembeddedfirmwareforlow-powerSTM32-basedIoTdevices;integratingGNSS,LoRaorLoRaWAN,andhardwareperipherals;DevelopingwithinanRTOSenvironment;anddeliveringreliable,maintainable,production-readycodeincollaborationwithmultidisciplinaryproductandplatformteamsintheUK,IsraelandCalifornia,USA.

Requirements

• ApproximatelyfiveyearsofembeddedsoftwareengineeringexperienceusingC/C++.
• Hands-onexperiencewithSTM32microcontrollersandembeddeddebugging.
• Provendeliveryoflow-powerfirmwareforbattery-operateddevices.
• ExperiencewithGNSS,LoRaorLoRaWAN,embeddedperipherals,andanRTOS.
• Abilitytoworkindependentlyanddeliverproduction-ready,maintainablefirmware.

• Experiencewithu-bloxM10ornewerGNSSarchitectures.
• Familiaritywithoscilloscopes,logicanalyzers,multimeters,andJ-LinkorST-Link.
• ExperiencewithGitandcollaborativedevelopmentworkflows.
• AbilitytoreadhardwareschematicsandPCBlayouts.
• ExperienceusingAI-assisteddevelopmenttoolssuchasGitHubCopilotorcomparabletools.
