Overview

In this role you will strengthen automated software testing within the Nottingham R&D team, transforming manual testing into scalable automation. You will work in a cross-functional Agile Scrum setting to improve software quality and accelerate releases for next-generation coding and marking equipment. You help shape testing strategy, expand automation capabilities, and contribute to engineering best practices. Responsibilities
  • Design, develop and maintain automated and manual test cases for embedded software used in industrial coding and marking equipment
  • Collaborate in a cross-functional Agile Scrum team with Software, Electronics and Mechanical Engineers to ensure product quality throughout the lifecycle
  • Execute functional, regression, exploratory, integration and end-to-end testing
  • Support new product development by creating comprehensive test coverage while maintaining existing regression suites
  • Investigate software issues, reproduce defects, and work with development teams to resolve them
  • Drive continuous improvement of software test automation to replace manual testing and boost engineering productivity
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related engineering discipline or equivalent practical experience
  • Hands-on experience testing Embedded Software and developing automated test solutions
  • Experience in Embedded Software Test environments and collaborating with Software Development Engineers
  • Experience creating structured test cases from product requirements and executing effective software validation
  • Experience with embedded test tools including Hardware-in-the-Loop environments
