Overview
Senior IoT Engineer to design, build, and scale the connected hardware powering the Energy Network. You will work hands-on across embedded systems, networking, device security, and fleet connectivity from prototype to deployment. Collaborate with firmware, hardware, and backend teams to deliver secure, production-ready devices with robust telemetry. This role supports a decentralised platform that rewards users and strengthens grid stability, enabling scalable energy solutions.

- Develop and maintain connectivity across Ethernet, Wi‑Fi, Thread, Zigbee, and BLE
- Build and optimise secure device messaging using MQTT, CoAP, HTTP, or WebSockets
- Support accurate time synchronisation using NTP or PTP
- Contribute to secure boot flows, key provisioning, and hardware-backed identities
- Design and maintain signed firmware update pipelines with OTA and rollback
- Ensure secure provisioning and vulnerability management across device lifecycles
- Integrate devices with cloud IoT platforms and backend services
- Define telemetry, health monitoring, and observability for deployed devices
- Support field operation reliability, debugging fleet issues, and improving resilience
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver production-ready devices and document interfaces
- Participate in design reviews and engineering best-practices sharing
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years building connected embedded products or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems with RTOS such as Zephyr or FreeRTOS
- Experience with Python for testing, tooling, or automation
- Solid understanding of IP networking and common transport/application protocols
- Experience implementing secure device communications using TLS, certificates, or provisioning workflows
- Familiarity with firmware update systems, bootloaders, CI/CD for embedded software
- Practical debugging with tools like logic analyzers, protocol analysers, network sniffers, or observability platforms
