Overview
In this role you will contribute to the development of advanced seeker systems within a multidisciplinary defence technology team. You will own hands-on software activities across the full lifecycle, from requirements and architecture to implementation, verification and testing. You’ll collaborate with hardware and firmware engineers, working on complex real-time systems in lab environments. The role combines software craftsmanship with safety-critical focus, offering a direct impact on performance and integration in embedded platforms.
Responsibilities- Own full software lifecycle activities from requirements through testing
- Design and implement real-time embedded software in collaboration with hardware/firmware teams
- Work with specialist lab equipment and test rigs to verify integration
- Contribute to software architecture and design decisions
- Support performance, debugging and system integration in complex environments
- Collaborate in multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver robust solutions
- Proven experience developing hard real-time embedded software
- Strong C programming skills
- Experience with embedded communication protocols (SPI, UART, Ethernet, PCIe)
- Experience with embedded software architecture and design
- Familiarity with UML and software design methodologies
- Strong understanding of system performance, integration and debugging
- Experience across the full software development lifecycle
