Overview

In Fareham, you will join the engineering team to develop embedded software for bespoke hardware and firmware platforms, focusing on C and FreeRTOS for real-time embedded systems. You’ll collaborate on low-level code, hardware/software integration, and feature development on RISC-V-based platforms, contributing to high-quality, reliable products for automotive and industrial customers. This role offers hands-on impact in a niche, tech-focused environment and a chance to shape next-generation solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement embedded software in C for microcontrollers and embedded systems
  • Develop and maintain FreeRTOS-based solutions ensuring real-time performance
  • Debug, test, and validate hardware/software interactions using JTAG and oscilloscopes
  • Develop new features to meet market requirements on RISC-V-based platforms
Key requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Physics or related field with a 2:1 or higher
  • Proven embedded C programming experience
  • Experience with FreeRTOS or another RTOS
  • Proficient with Git/source control
  • Strong aptitude for numeracy and software unit testing
  • Working knowledge of ISO9000 standards and version control systems
  • Experience with USB firmware and low-level USB protocols (desirable)
