Overview

In this role you will lead a skilled embedded software team, shaping engineering practices and driving on-time delivery of complex software from concept to release. You collaborate across disciplines to define technical direction and ensure high-performance outcomes. The role combines people leadership with hands-on technical ownership in a fast-paced, wireless-enabled environment. You will mentor engineers, promote continuous improvement, and act as a technical liaison to customers, shaping the team's impact and strategy.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of software engineers to foster a high-performance culture.
  • Define and evolve engineering standards, practices, and design approaches for continuous improvement.
  • ProvideTechnical leadership across the software development lifecycle from architecture to release.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve key milestones with quality delivery.
  • Oversee implementation and optimization of wireless communication software across diverse platforms.
  • Serve as the technical point of contact for customers, capturing requirements and addressing challenges.
  • Support career development, coaching and knowledge sharing to maximise team potential.
Key requirements
  • Proven experience leading software engineering teams, preferably with C/C++.
  • Extensive embedded software development experience for performance-critical or high-throughput apps.
  • Track record in designing, developing and validating embedded or high-performance computing software.
  • Ability to translate complex ideas into clear development plans and deliverables.
  • Experience with CI/CD, software planning tools, and agile workflows.
  • A relevant degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent commercial experience.
  • Understanding of wireless communications principles or enthusiasm to develop expertise in this area.
