Overview

In this EMC/E3 Engineer role you design, develop and qualify system installations and rotary-wing platforms to meet customer requirements and certification rules. You will work with a cross-geographic team within the Helicopter Division to address E3/EMC challenges and ensure compliance. The position offers progression toward Chief Project ownership with technical autonomy over a helicopter product type. On-site presence is required 2–3 days per week. This role combines hands-on testing, analysis, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to shape compliance and performance.

Responsibilities
  • Support bid activities for future contracts
  • Define equipment qualification requirements and plan vendor design/qualification strategies
  • Prepare aircraft test documentation and conduct E3 testing (HIRF, Mutual Compatibility, TEMPEST, HERO/HERP)
  • Review and manage vendor qualification activities per EMC aerospace standards (DO-160, DEF STAN 59-411)
  • Evaluate electromagnetic environment modifications and provide SME input to design teams
  • Carry out helicopter testing/analyses and generate required documentation
  • Analyse and implement platform-level design mitigations
  • Produce documentation to demonstrate compliance with civil/military requirements
Key requirements
  • Experience in electromagnetics and aerospace is preferred
  • Knowledge of airworthiness regulations
  • Experience in design, development, integration and qualification of aircraft electrical and avionic systems
  • Electrical design, generation/distribution, installation, lighting, avionic systems, and EMC knowledge
  • Clearance and BPSS/NSV considerations for UK security vetting would apply
  • Good attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work in cross-functional/multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
