EMEA Data Governance - Senior Associate

Overview
In this role you help secure data risk management across EMEA within Asset & Wealth Management. You will work with cross-functional partners to implement governance standards and drive data excellence using AI/ML to support risk-aware commercial goals. You’ll operate within a culture that values integrity, collaboration, and innovation while influencing regional data governance initiatives. This is a hands-on role shaping how data is governed, protected, and leveraged for business impact.
Responsibilities- Support adherence to data risk management standards by documenting requirements, frameworks, and practices
- Coordinate regional inputs into governance forums and prepare materials representing EMEA needs
- Assist with investigation and remediation of governance or policy breaches, tracking actions and escalation workflows
- Partner with Controls, Risk, Compliance, Audit, Legal, Data Executives, Product Owners, Application & Information Owners, and Technology
- Support EMEA data protection governance activities, including tracking artifacts and coordinating classification discussions
- Identify process improvements by documenting workflows and implementing efficiencies
- Contribute to program delivery with workstream plans, milestones, and dependency management
- Support ongoing data risk management activities, including metrics, reporting, and remediation tracking
- Participate in governance meetings by preparing agendas, capturing decisions, and driving follow-ups
- Collaborate with broader CDO teams to reflect regulatory considerations across initiatives
- Oversee activities to support data risk management, participate in firmwide governance forums, lead meetings, drive action
- Strong understanding of control and risk management concepts with ability to evaluate controls and create procedures
- Bachelor in Data Science (or equivalent)
- Data governance expertise and exposure to European data regulations
- Experience implementing firmwide policies and standards
- Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional coordination
- Foundational AI/GenAI literacy with ability to identify automation opportunities
- Experience in strategic and tactical initiatives with ownership of deliverables
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to balance high-level overview with detailed analysis and collaborate with business and technology partners
