Physician - Emergency Medicine


Job Details:

  • Nights only position with shift hours from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM

  • Duration of need is 3 to 6 months

  • ABEM board certification required

  • 2 shadow shifts required for orientation

  • 11-bed emergency department with a census of 15,000 to 16,000 patients per year, averaging 30 to 40 patients per day

  • Average of 4 to 5 daily admissions with approximately 13% admission rate from the ED

  • Patient population is young and generally healthy with low to mid acuity cases

  • Most common cases include GI symptoms, gynecological complaints, and pediatric patients

  • Not a trauma, stroke, or cardiac center with minimal EMS volume

  • Standard ED procedures required, primarily low to mid acuity

  • Standard ED nursing and support staff on site with a pediatrician on shift during peak hours

  • 2 ED physicians and 1 pediatrician scheduled per day

  • Standard call services available including pediatrics
