JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Board: Board certification not required but must have completed a 3-year residency; boards accepted: EM, FP/FM, IM
  • Licenses: Active, unrestricted Mississippi license required at presentation; DEA with Mississippi address required
  • DEA / CDS: Active DEA with MS address, Schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4 & 5; pending DEA accepted
  • Certifications: ACLS, PALS & ATLS required; ABEM exempt
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years recent clinical experience requested; case logs past 2 years requested; CME past 2 years
  • Other Qualifications: Criminal background check required prior to privileges; 2-step PPD or QuantiFERON Gold; immunizations as listed; 3rd-year residents accepted
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide emergency medical care to patients in the ED, treating acute conditions and stabilizing patients
  • Perform procedures consistent with emergency medicine training (e.g., intubation, suturing, central lines) as required
  • Work approximately 8 shifts per month to meet urgent coverage needs
  • Collaborate with nursing and support staff to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records, adhering to facility and regulatory standards
