Locum Emergency Medicine Physician - Evansville, Indiana Clinical Role

We are seeking a Board Certified or truly Board Eligible Emergency Medicine Physician for a locum tenens opportunity in Evansville, Indiana.

• Must have completed an Emergency Medicine residency

• ABEM only - ABIM and ABFM candidates cannot be considered due to facility bylaws

• ABEM Board Eligible candidates are acceptable

• ABPS certification is not accepted

• Current need is primarily for night shift coverage

• Candidates who can cover 5-7 consecutive days at a time are preferred

• Providers must remain flexible with shift coverage based on facility needs and submitted availability

• EMR: Epic

Shift Coverage

Primary shifts needed:

• 6:00 PM-3:00 AM

• 10:00 PM-7:00 AM

• 8:00 PM-6:00 AM at an additional location

The facility will utilize the locum based on coverage needs and the dates the provider is available.

• November 28, 2026: 1:00 PM-10:00 PM

• November 28, 2026: 3:00 PM-12:00 AM

• November 28, 2026: 10:00 PM-7:00 AM

• November 29, 2026: 10:00 PM-7:00 AM

• December 13, 2026: 10:00 PM-7:00 AM

• December 21, 2026: 10:00 PM-7:00 AM

Facility CoverageDepartment Shift Structure

The department's standard shift structure includes:

• 6:00 AM-3:00 PM

• 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

• 1:00 PM-10:00 PM

• 3:00 PM-12:00 AM

• 6:00 PM-3:00 AM

• 10:00 PM-7:00 AM

The current locum need is focused on the 6:00 PM and 10:00 PM starting shifts , with the additional dates/times listed above based on current coverage needs.

Emergency Department DetailsSite 1

• Level II Trauma Center

• Approximately 40 emergency department rooms

• Annual ED volume of 45,000+

• Approximately 15-18 patients per physician per day

• Average volume of approximately 2 patients per hour

• Approximately 298 hospital beds

• Typically 2-3 physicians during most hours

• APP support available 24/7

• Hospitalists admit patients

• Broad subspecialty support available

• Transfers generally limited to burns, complicated pediatric cases, and some hand cases

Site 2

• Connected to a women's hospital

• OB coverage available

Both campuses have OB coverage. Stroke and STEMI coverage are available 24/7/365 . One facility is a Comprehensive Stroke Center .

Requirements

• Board Certified or truly Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine

• Completed Emergency Medicine residency

• ABEM required

• ABEM Board Eligible accepted

• ABIM and ABFM not accepted

• ABPS certification not accepted

• Epic experience
