Locum Tenens Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $7,240-$7,750
• Location: Anchorage, Alaska
• Opportunity Type: Long-term locum tenens physician opportunity
• Start Date: January 2027
• Duration: Approximately 52 weeks, with ongoing coverage needs
• Practice Setting: Pediatric endocrinology clinic, hospital call, and telehealth
• Schedule: Monday-Friday clinic coverage from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., including weeknight beeper call and 24-hour weekend beeper call
• Coverage Model: Approximately two weeks per month of in-person clinic coverage and two weeks per month of virtual 24-hour hospital call coverage
• Clinical Hours: 8 guaranteed hours per clinic day; overtime applies after 40 clinical hours per week
• Patient Volume: Approximately 15 patient encounters per shift
• Care Environment: Level II pediatric care setting

Pediatric Endocrinology Physician Requirements

• Board certification required
• Non-licensed providers may be presented for consideration; candidates who can obtain a temporary Alaska medical license while full licensure is in process may be considered
• Active DEA registration required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
• Ability to provide both in-person clinic care and virtual hospital call coverage
• Current CV required for consideration

Pediatric Endocrinologist Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage pediatric patients with endocrine conditions in an outpatient clinic setting
• Provide Monday-Friday clinic coverage during scheduled daytime hours
• Respond to weeknight and 24-hour weekend beeper call
• Provide virtual hospital call coverage during assigned weeks
• Deliver coordinated care through in-person visits, telehealth consultations, and hospital communication
• Manage an estimated volume of up to 15 patient encounters per shift
• Collaborate with pediatric and multidisciplinary care teams to support high-quality patient outcomes and continuity of care
