We are now looking for an Energy Infrastructure Consultant to join our team and provide technical expertise across a large and diverse estate of more than 70 buildings.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced building services, energy or sustainability professional to make a real impact by improving energy performance, reducing utility consumption and supporting the delivery of sustainable solutions across the estate.

What you'll do

As our Energy Infrastructure Consultant, you will provide technical expertise across energy, sustainability, HVAC and Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS).

You’ll be joining a team supporting a significant estate of more than 70 buildings, with approximately 350,000m² Net Internal Area (NIA) across the portfolio.

The role offers the opportunity to work across a broad range of energy, sustainability and building engineering activities, helping to identify improvements, deliver efficiencies and support the Client's long-term estate strategy.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the delivery of monthly, six-monthly and annual energy, water and waste performance reporting.
• Identifying opportunities to reduce energy and utility consumption and developing business cases for energy-saving projects.
• Managing energy audits and producing clear technical reports highlighting opportunities for improved energy performance.
• Supporting the effective operation and optimisation of BEMS systems to deliver sustainable energy reductions while maintaining operational requirements.
• Responding to BEMS helpdesk requests and coordinating appropriate remedial actions.
• Providing technical guidance on HVAC systems and supporting colleagues and contractors with planned, preventative and reactive maintenance.
• Supporting compliance with Display Energy Certificate (DEC) and Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) requirements.
• Developing, maintaining and reviewing contingency plans for the loss of utility supplies.
• Maintaining accurate records and databases relating to estate plant and equipment.
• Supporting the Client's sustainability objectives across energy, water and waste.
• Providing technical input into capital projects, asset management and maintenance programmes.
• Supporting the development and delivery of Energy and Sustainability Asset Management Plans.
• Analysing complex data from multiple sources and turning it into meaningful information for client reporting.
• Keeping up to date with developments in building engineering, energy management and emerging technologies.
• Sharing knowledge and best practice across the wider Sodexo team.
• Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with relevant legislation, client policies and Sodexo procedures.

What you bring

We are looking for someone with a strong technical background in energy, sustainability or building services who can combine technical expertise with excellent communication and customer relationship skills.

You’ll ideally have:

• NVQ Level 6 or equivalent experience/qualification in a relevant discipline, such as building services or mechanical engineering.
• Professional membership of a relevant institution, such as CIBSE or the Energy Institute .
• Knowledge of relevant energy and environmental legislation and standards, including ESOS and DECs .
• Experience of energy auditing and identifying opportunities to reduce energy and utility consumption.
• An understanding of carbon accounting and energy auditing methodologies, such as ISO 50002, CIBSE TM22, PAS 2050 or the GHG Protocol .
• Knowledge and understanding of HVAC and BEMS systems .
• The ability to analyse complex information and translate data into clear, practical recommendations.
• Strong report-writing skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong customer relationship and stakeholder management skills.
• Good financial and commercial awareness.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload.
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team.
• A proactive approach, with the ability to take ownership and accountability for delivering results.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook .
