As an IT Engineer , you will lead the delivery of essential IT services and manageable IT projects within the Engineering team. You will act as an owner-operator, accountable for the success and health of systems in your care, and mentor newer engineers. You’ll work on enterprise-grade infrastructure, incident response, and automation to reduce complexity. This role combines hands-on technical work with project leadership in a fast-paced, globally focused fintech environment. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional partners to support scalable, secure workplace technology and drive improvements that matter.
Responsibilities- Independently design and deliver project-level work with minimal guidance from senior engineers
- Act as a subject matter expert for the Workplace Technology stack, focusing on Jira and Confluence administration and optimization
- Provide advanced technical support and policy management for macOS and Windows endpoints using Jamf and Microsoft Intune
- Offer advanced operational support on team-owned services and train new members on service design, security, and operations
- Display urgency and accountability during incidents, triaging and supporting complex flows unaided
- Regularly mentor less experienced engineers to raise technical quality
- Proactively identify areas for automation (Python/PowerShell) to reduce incidental complexity
- 2–3+ years of IT Engineering or similar technical role
- Experience with Identity Providers (Okta, Azure AD) and protocols like SAML and SCIM
- High-level experience managing the Atlassian suite, including Jira configurations, workflow customisations, and permission schemes
- Logical problem-solving approach and ability to articulate technical trade-offs
- Ownership mindset with responsibility for tasks and long-term health of systems
- Effective communication with stakeholders and complex support queries within your focus area
- Adaptability to a fast-paced environment balancing short-term workarounds with long-term architectural solutions
