Overview

As Platform Engineer in Atlas, you help shape Trainline’s infrastructure platform to be reliable, secure and scalable. You’ll work with a cross-functional team to deploy and manage services, applying secure-by-default practices and automation. You’ll contribute to Terraform-driven changes and CI/CD pipelines, collaborating with senior engineers to delivery milestones. This role offers impact across engineering platforms and an opportunity to advance a green, high-performance tech stack.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver platform improvements to support reliable deployment, run and management of services
  • Implement infrastructure changes using Terraform with maintainable patterns
  • Apply least-privilege and secure-by-default principles in AWS
  • Develop automation scripts in Node.js or Python to reduce manual effort
  • Collaborate with Senior Platform Engineers, Tech Leads and Delivery Managers to align on priorities
  • Test, validate and deploy changes through CI/CD pipelines with thorough checks
  • Provide clear delivery updates and raise blockers early to keep the team aligned
  • Grow knowledge of Trainline’s platform and engineering practices through feedback and collaboration
Key requirements
  • Good experience with AWS services (ECS, Lambda, IAM, CloudFront) and cloud security best practices
  • Experience delivering infrastructure changes using Terraform
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and know when to ask questions
  • Experience using Node.js or Python for automation or integration tasks
  • Thoughtful approach to secure engineering (least-privilege, secure-by-default)
  • Experience using AI tooling to support day-to-day work
  • Collaborative, agile, delivery-focused mindset
  • Experience with Git-based CI/CD pipelines, multi-account AWS environments, CDN, WAF or OIDC (nice-to-have)
