In this role you ensure continuous, high-availability operation of Cboe’s real-time trading platforms from London, supporting European markets and US GTH coverage. You will collaborate with Software, Systems and Network Engineering to troubleshoot and automate platform configuration and incidents. You drive capacity, performance, and automation improvements while operating in a global, follow-the-sun support model. This is a hands-on role that blends software, systems, and network skills to sustain trusted market infrastructure.
Responsibilities- Provide configuration management for trading platforms and implement new features based on business needs
- Monitor change tickets and production, DR, and certification system updates
- Support bare-metal on-prem infrastructure with cloud and container tech (AWS/Azure/GCP, Docker, Kubernetes)
- Lead incident response and root cause analysis for US GTH hours, coordinating with global teams
- Ensure high availability and performance of real-time trading platforms; tune Linux and kernel-bypass networking (Solarflare/Onload)
- Assist build team to resolve deployment issues
- Create and improve operations reports; analyze data (order entry, market data, logs) to troubleshoot
- Drive capacity planning and participate in planning meetings
- Develop and maintain Python automation tools; explore AI-driven efficiency improvements
- Participate in weekend testing and follow-the-sun on-call rotations
- Bachelor education in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related discipline (ideal)
- UNIX Shell
- SQL
- Python, C++, or similar programming language
- Technical Operations experience
- experience with Linux OS tuning and low-latency infrastructure
- Communication skills in English, cross-time-zone collaboration
- Familiarity with European and US market structures is preferred
