Overview

In this Principal Software Engineer role at JPMorganChase within Strategic Business Services, you will shape secure, scalable technology products used across portfolios. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to raise engineering standards and deliver trusted solutions. You will architect AI-enabled development workflows and guide adoption with guardrails for security, resiliency, and governance. This position offers impact across the firm by accelerating delivery and improving code quality at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Create complex, scalable coding frameworks using suitable design patterns
  • Develop secure, high-quality production code and review others’ work
  • Architect and govern agentic AI-enabled engineering workflows with guardrails for validation, security, resiliency, and reuse
  • Leverage SDLC tools and enterprise AI-enabled automation to boost automation and value
  • Advise cross-functional teams on technical matters within domain of expertise
  • Serve as go-to subject matter expert in the function
  • Contribute to development of technical methods and durable reusable software frameworks
  • Influence senior leaders across business, product, and technology teams
Key requirements
  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and advanced applied experience
  • Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Expert in one or more programming language(s)
  • Experience designing and leading adoption of agentic AI-enabled development practices across teams
  • Strong understanding of responsible AI use, security, resiliency, data sensitivity, and governance; ability to influence senior technical leaders
  • Experience applying expertise to solve complex technology problems in one or more disciplines
  • Ability to present and communicate effectively with Senior Leaders and Executives
  • Practical cloud-native experience
