Engineering Manager Applied AI

Lead applied AI engineering from anywhere in Canada, using LLM systems and machine learning expertise to improve digital healthcare experiences.

As Engineering Manager, AI, you will guide engineers delivering production-ready AI capabilities in regulated healthcare. You will shape evaluation, model management, and monitoring practices while balancing accuracy, safety, accountability, and delivery. The role combines hands-on technical leadership with people development and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and grow engineers building AI-powered patient and operational features
• Build evaluation, retrieval, guardrail, and model management systems
• Establish objective AI quality measures and release criteria
• Optimize production models for cost, latency, and performance
• Partner with Product, Clinical, Pharmacy, and Customer Experience teams

Requirements:

• At least three years as an engineering leader or manager
• Production experience with LLM or machine learning products
• Strong AI evaluation methodology and release criteria understanding
• Leadership skills supporting execution, unblocking, and engineer growth
• Experience across front-end and back-end technologies
