As Senior Engineering Manager, you will scale and lead squads responsible for core service integrations, provider ecosystems, and backend platform architecture. You will guide the transition of platform delivery from external consultants to a high-performing internal team, while maintaining a hands-off leadership stance. Your solid Java/Spring Boot background will drive technical decision-making and earn team credibility. You will operate in a modern cloud environment (GCP) with event-driven, microservice-based architectures, shaping the platform’s evolution in healthcare. Responsibilities- Scale and mentor a squad of 6–8 engineers, establishing growth pathways
- Guide architecture and delivery of event-driven microservices on Google Cloud Platform
- Lead the in-housing of platform delivery by phasing out external consultancy ownership
- Manage complex matrix stakeholder relationships and balance technical debt with delivery commitments
- Hands-on engineering background in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, containerisation, and cloud platforms
- Proven Engineering Manager or Lead experience in enterprise environments
- Strong understanding of event-driven architecture, API integrations, and elastic scalability
- Effective communication and cross-functional leadership skills
- Desirable: experience in regulated environments (Healthcare, HealthTech, or Financial Services) and knowledge of healthcare data standards and secure integrations
