Overview

In this Data Architect role, you will lead the enterprise data architecture to maximise value from a complex, global data estate. You will shape future-state data models, information architectures and integration standards to support education, research and professional services. You will work with data, analytics and technology leaders to align technology choices with the university’s long-term aims, governance, and security. The role offers strategic influence over data management and digital intelligence initiatives at a world-leading university.

Responsibilities
  • Lead development of enterprise data architecture and roadmaps aligning with strategic priorities
  • Create and maintain enterprise data models, information architectures and integration standards
  • Drive data governance, information security and decision-support through analytics capabilities
  • Champion API-led integration and oversee alignment of projects with architectural principles
  • Provide expert oversight on data management practices, cloud analytics platforms and modern architectures
Key requirements
  • Significant data architecture experience in large, complex organisations
  • Expertise in enterprise data modelling and data management
  • Experience with modern architectures (Data Warehouses, Lakehouses, Data Mesh, Data Fabric) and cloud analytics
  • Experience with Microsoft data technologies (Fabric, Data Factory, SQL Server, Power BI, Azure data services) is highly desirable
  • Strong communication skills with ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Experience in data governance, integration technologies, BI and information security
  • Degree level education or equivalent professional experience
  • Relevant certifications such as TOGAF or CDMP are highly desirable
