As Domain Architect, you will define the target state and multi-year roadmap for Digital Backbone and Digital Employee Experience, shaping investment and architecture to securely scale platforms. You will align with enterprise governance, work with cross-functional leaders, and ensure delivery stays true to the designed architecture. This role emphasizes strategy, investment planning, and architectural excellence over delivery, with a focus on secure, resilient, and affordable foundations. You will be at the center of architectural decisions that impact the company’s technology future and capability maturity.

- Define and maintain target architecture across Digital Workplace, Network/Hosting, Cloud/Hybrid, and Platform Engineering with views, standards, and reference patterns
- Maintain baseline of current estate and ensure landscape models reflect reality
- Contribute to cross-cutting standards and represent domains in governance
- Synthesize risk signals, demand, and market direction into domain drivers and roadmap
- Own rolling three-year roadmap and five-year outlook, including change sequencing
- Convert roadmap into investment items with cost/benefit and delivery confidence
- Support business cases and portfolio submissions with architecture content
- Act as standing design authority for both domains and approve high-level designs and patterns
- Mentor and support Solution/Technical Architects; foster a domain architecture community
- Extensive experience in architecture function, ideally in regulated/defence contexts
- Ability to own multi-year roadmaps and secure funding
- Proficiency in architecture methods and artefacts (TOGAF, ArchiMate)
- Evidence-informed judgement using risk, demand, and lifecycle data
- Experience with design authority or equivalent assurance work
- Strong influence and coaching skills across engineers and directors
- Knowledge of hybrid/multi-cloud environments and on-premises footprints
- Understanding of security by design, affordability, and governance
- Collaboration and stakeholder engagement
