Overview

As a Data Architect, you will lead the design and delivery of enterprise cloud data platforms using AWS, Databricks, and MongoDB to support UK Insurance and Financial Services clients. You will shape data strategies, modernize data estates, and drive cloud migrations in collaboration with cross-functional teams. This role focuses on scalable lakehouse architectures, governance, and secure data practices to enable strategic business decisions. You will mentor engineers and work closely with executives to translate business needs into robust data solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Define and execute enterprise data architecture and cloud data strategies
  • Design scalable Lakehouse architectures using AWS and Databricks
  • Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models
  • Lead data modernization and cloud migration projects
  • Establish governance, security, lineage and data quality frameworks
  • Collaborate with business leaders, engineering teams, and executive stakeholders
  • Mentor data engineers and technical project teams
Key requirements
  • Extensive background in Data Architecture, AWS, Databricks, and MongoDB
  • Deep understanding of UK Speciality Insurance and Reinsurance
  • FCA & PRA Regulations familiarity and Solvency II Reporting
  • Proven experience with Insurance Data Models and reporting structures
