Enterprise Data Manager

This role leads the Data Management team within the Digital, Data and Technology function at Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service, reporting to the Information and Data Governance Manager and line managing two Data Management Officers. The post centres on building enterprise data standards, governance frameworks and data lifecycle processes that frontline and corporate services can rely on. It is a leadership role spanning strategy and hands-on delivery, including modelling, metadata and embedding data requirements in new systems. Significant experience in data management and governance is expected.

What the job involves

• Lead the Data Management team, including line management of two Data Management Officers
• Lead the development and implementation of enterprise data management policies, procedures and standards
• Champion data quality, integrity, ethical use and privacy by design
• Develop governance frameworks, data ownership arrangements and lifecycle management processes
• Oversee data modelling, metadata, data dictionaries and data products across their lifecycle
• Support projects and departments to embed enterprise data requirements in new and evolving systems
• Build data capability and literacy across the Service, including data confidentiality and effective use
• Work with colleagues across Digital, Data and Technology and the wider Service
