Overview

In this role, you join UBS Global Markets as part of the Cash Equities CRB Quantitative Developer team to build and enhance a high-performance, low-latency trading platform. You will own initiatives from analysis to delivery, improve the framework, and contribute across market connectivity, hedging, risk, and analytics. The role emphasizes automation, rapid production releases, and collaboration with quantitative traders to drive eTrading revenues. You will impact platform performance and governance while shaping the future of electronic trading.

Responsibilities
  • Own initiatives from analysis through design, implementation and delivery
  • Propose and drive platform and framework improvements
  • Work on all aspects of algorithmic trading: market connectivity, hedging, risk management, execution strategies
  • Design and build analytics to assess model and platform performance
  • Perform latency analysis and optimisation
  • Enhance the proprietary eTrading framework used across the department
Key requirements
  • Advanced Java programming with low-latency, low-garbage techniques
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing low-latency, high-throughput, event-driven algorithmic trading platforms
  • Strong knowledge of electronic trading, especially Cash Equities and market structure
  • Collaboration with quantitative traders to implement trading models and controls
  • Experience with model documentation and governance functions
  • Familiarity with messaging libraries/protocols: Aeron, Kafka, EMS, SBE, FIX, ITCH, OUCH
  • Experience with time-series databases (KDB) and Python for analytics
  • Full stack development experience (preferably React) for dashboards and tools
