Overview
In this role you design, maintain, and enhance multi-tier client/server applications using Gupta/Centura tools while ensuring stable operations of legacy systems. You will translate user needs into functional software alongside QA and business analysts, contributing to modernization efforts and data-driven reporting. You’ll work within a culture that values client focus and collaboration to deliver digital experiences for enterprise clients. This is a hands-on position with impact on system reliability, modernization, and integration.
Responsibilities- Design, maintain, and debug multi-tier client/server apps using Gupta Team Developer
- Identify and fix defects in legacy systems to ensure stability
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries, views, and stored procedures
- Assist in upgrading older Gupta/Centura versions to current releases
- Create and modify data-heavy reports with Gupta ReportBuilder
- Collaborate with business analysts and QA to translate requirements into updates
- 5+ years of software development experience with Gupta/Centura tools
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; good communication; team or independent work capability
- Proficiency with Gupta Team Developer / Centura SQLWindows
- Solid OO programming principles and relational database design
- Experience with relational DBs such as SQLBase, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or Sybase
- Basic data integration understanding using XML, JSON, or web services
