Expense Management Finance Manager

Lead expense analysis and planning at Sun Life in a hybrid Manager, Expense Management role serving Toronto or Waterloo. Use Excel, Hyperion, and financial modelling skills.

Within Retail Advice & Solutions, you will provide timely financial information supporting management decisions. You will allocate operating expenses by product group, analyze gain/gap drivers, calculate unit costs, and lead planning for insurance and wealth. The role partners with valuation actuaries, Finance, Operations, and the Client Experience Office.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare gain/gap, unit cost, commission, and business review deliverables
• Analyze results, variances, and key performance drivers
• Lead annual planning, budgeting, and quarterly forecasting
• Lead the Retail Advice & Solutions Expense Study
• Mentor staff and perform financial modelling

Requirements:

• Five to seven years of accounting experience
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills
• Excellent communication for explaining complex financial concepts
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Hyperion report building
• Ability to manage multiple deliverables and deadlines
