What we're looking for:

We are looking for a Fabric Platform Engineer who will be responsible for administering, securing, optimising and continuously improving the organisation's Microsoft Fabric platform, Power Platform environments and associated data platform services.

Working within WWU's Microsoft ecosystem, you will ensure that the data platform remains secure, resilient, scalable and cost-effective, enabling analytics, reporting, operational decision-making and future digital capabilities across the organisation.

You'll be relied on to:

  • Administering and managing Microsoft Fabric capacities,workspaces, environments and platform settings.
  • Establishing and maintaining platform standards, governance controls and operational processes.
  • Designing and supporting DevOps, CI/CD and deployment frameworks across the data platform.
  • Implementing monitoring, observability and security controls to ensure platform reliability and performance.
  • Supporting Data Services teams through the provision of a robust, trusted and scalable platform.
  • Driving automation, operational efficiency and adoption of engineering best practice.
  • Managing platform performance, capacity utilisation and operational health.
  • Evaluating and implementing new Fabric capabilities and service

You'll need to have:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering or equivalent practical experience
  • Microsoft Fabric Analytics Engineer DP-600
  • Microsoft Azure Administrator
  • Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer DP-700
  • Microsoft Security certifications
  • Azure DevOps certifications
  • Operating enterprise data platforms
  • Microsoft Fabric or Azure analytics platforms
  • Platform administration
  • DevOps and deployment automation
  • Monitoring and operational support
  • Security and governance controls

The following is also desirable:

  • Administration and governance of Microsoft Power Platform environments
  • Data Engineering
  • Purview
  • Utilities sector experience
  • Infrastructure as Code
