Family Practice - Without OB Physician

A growing physician-led primary care practice in Grand Rapids, Minnesota is seeking a Board-Certified Family Medicine Physician for a locum tenens assignment with the potential for extension. Practice Setting

Providers will primarily practice in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, with the possibility of supporting additional nearby clinics in Hibbing and Deer River as needed.

This is a modern outpatient family medicine practice serving patients of all ages throughout Minnesota's Northwoods region. The organization emphasizes team-based care, provider collaboration, and high-quality patient outcomes.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive outpatient Family Medicine services
• Evaluate and treat acute illnesses and injuries
• Diagnose and manage chronic medical conditions
• Perform preventive and wellness examinations
• Deliver care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations
• Coordinate specialty referrals and follow-up care
• Review diagnostic studies and laboratory results
• Provide health education and preventive counseling
• Maintain accurate documentation within EPIC EMR
• Collaborate with physicians, APPs, nursing staff, and support teams

Schedule

40 Hours Per Week

• Monday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• Tuesday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• Thursday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• Friday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

One-hour lunch daily

Patient-Facing Hours: 36 hours weekly
Administrative Time: 4 hours weekly

Additional Details

• Start Date: December 2026 or ASAP
• Assignment length: 90 days
• Potential for extension
• Credentialing timeframe: 45-120 days

• Average 16-20 patients per day

  • 7 Medical Assistants
  • 4 Office Staff Members
  • Up to 4 Additional Physicians

Qualifications Required

• Board-Certified Family Medicine Physician (ABFM or ACOFP)
• Active Minnesota Medical License or eligibility through IMLC
• Active DEA Registration
• Current BLS Certification
• Outpatient Family Medicine experience
• Experience treating patients across all age groups

Preferred

• Minimum 1 year of outpatient Family Medicine clinic experience
• EPIC EMR experience
• Prior locum tenens experience
• Rural health experience
• Strong commitment to continuity of care
